Police spent the entire morning searching for the weapon used to kill an elderly man in Mission last week.
Dive teams searched a canal off of 2 mile line for hours today in hopes of finding the crobar used to kill 86-year old Willis Kimmons last Tuesday. Police say the two men charged in the killing admitted to throwing the weapon in the area. So far Police have not found the weapon but plan to leave no stone un-turned.
"At the same time we're continuing the search on ground. We have several metal detectors being used to make an attempt in finding this murder weapon. We just want to make sure we look at all the options and not leave anything unwrapped," said Assistant Police Chief Martin Garza.
Police say even though they have confessions from both of the suspects the weapon would help convict the men of capital murder in court.
