A national statistic out of the White House shows that only 13% of Hispanics complete high school. Now there's a real push to expand the educational opportunities for Hispanics. NewsCenter 23's Na'tassia Finley has more on how the White House and the Brownsville I.S.D. are working together.

Executive Director of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics was in Brownsville listening to concerns from educators and also successes in their classroom.

The roundtable discussion brought out concerns over early childhood education, funding being taken away from public schools and given to charter schools, even school meals among other things.

With over 54 million people, Hispanics are the largest minority group in the nation. The current administration believes expanding educational opportunities for Hispanics will  help ensure the country remains a leading force across the world.
