The Hidalgo sheriff's office arrested 22 year-old Aldo Samuel Sosa over the weekend after crashing his car off of business 83 in McAllen.

Sosa was a county detention officer but was fired on Monday for being arrested and charged with drunk driving. He had registered a BAC of .55 alcohol level which was above the state legal limit. In a statement from Sheriff Trevino he stated that the department has a very clear policy and zero tolerance when a county sheriff office employee is under the influence of alcohol.

The sheriff regrets and apologized for the actions of Sosa and is committed to continue to police themselves and adhere to their police of accountability and transparency.
