A Cameron County Detention Center is really feeling the heat.
This because, their air conditioning units are not working properly.
The 3-digit temperatures outdoors have everyone trying to find ways to cool off.
But, it's the heat inside, Brownsville's Detention Center One on Harrison Street, which have inmates and guards very heated...
Detention Gurads contacted News Center 23 and told us, that inside Cameron County's Detention Center One, temperatures inside are around 90-degrees.
The air conditioning units are not working.
They say, inmates and guards are "sweating" a ton.
There are no windows at the jail, so they say, there are no real ways for them to cool themselves off.
Cameron County Judge Carlos Cascos says, some inmates were fooling around with the air conditioning units, and they accidentally broke them.
He says, they're working hard to get the problem fixed, as soon as they possibly can.
