A deputy constable is behind bars after driving while intoxicated and critically injuring a driver.

Alamo police arrested Javier Hinojosa , a deputy constable for Precinct 2 in Hidalgo county, after crashing into another vehicle. The woman in that vehicle was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition. Investigators say Hinojosa had his 12 year-old son in the car with him at the time of the accident. Police have charged Hinojosa with driving while intoxicated with a child under 15 years of age and intoxicated assault with a vehicle.
