BROWNSVILLE - The Cameron County District Attorney's Office is looking into Wednesday's incident involving the near drowning of an 11 month-old baby.

Police say the incident occurred when the baby girl's mother, Amanda Gallardo, was giving her a bath and left the infant alone for a few minutes. She returned to find her daughter floating face down in a water filled tub. The infant was taken to Valley Baptist Medical Center and is listed in critical condition.
