Nearly $1 million dollars worth of heroin is no longer on the market. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Gateway International bridge seized the drugs valued at around $970,000 dollars.

Agents say the drugs were discovered within six aluminum food cans. A 28 year-old female citizen of Mexico arrived at the port of entry in a mini van. After several red flags alerted officers, the vehicle and driver were taken for a secondary inspection. There, agents found a single package inside each can with a combined total weight of about 9.7 pounds of heroin.
