Custom officers seize meth and cocaine at port of entry

Custom and Border Protection officers intercepted a shipment of methamphetamine and cocaine at a port of entry.

On Wednesday, August 21st CBP officers, working at the Gateway port of entry, encountered a black 2007 Chevy Cobalt driven by a woman.

The woman, 21, was identified as an American residing in Brownsville and she was referred to a secondary inspection for further questioning.

During the search of the vehicle officers found three packages hidden inside the car and an additional 15 packages concealed within a wooden shelf inside the vehicle.

The three packages contained cocaine with a total weight of over 7 lbs. and the 15 packages contained over 7 lbs. of methamphetamine.

The street value of the meth was estimated at $249,600 and the cocaine at $105,000 with a total value of both narcotics at $355,000.
