Nearly three quarters of a million dollars worth of guns and drugs are off the streets in Brownsville.

Custom officers at the Gateway International bridge seized five assault rifles, two semi-automatic handguns and twelve high capacity magazines. The weapons were found Saturday inside a Ford Taurus leaving the U.S. trying to get into Mexico. On Friday, officers at the Brownsville/Matamoros bridge found close to 23 pounds of cocaine inside a Ford Fusion.
