J & D Produce is recalling their curly parsley and cilantro because of a salmonella scare.

An Upper Valley produce company is putting out a voluntary recall on cilantro and curly parsley.

The two products from J & D Produce in Edinburg tested positive for salmonella early last week during a regulatory testing from the FDA in Detroit and CFIA in Quebec, Canada.

There have been no reported injuries at this time.

PR representative Mike Rose said this is the first time J & D Produce has recalled a product dealing with salmonella.

Salmonella is a bacteria that can cause illness to both people and animals. Symptoms from salmonella include nausea, headaches, abdominal pain, fever, diarrhea and muscle pains.

If consumers have questions about either of those products, they should call 956-380-0353.
