Women arrested for theft of over $150 worth of beef fajitas

Harlingen police arrested two women accused of attempting to take several pounds of beef fajitas without paying for the items.

On Sunday, July 13th Harlingen police were called to the HEB store located at 613 S. Expressway 77 regarding a theft.

A store Loss Prevention Officer informed officers that he observed two women, Belinda Pineda, 42, and Maria Luisa Vasquez-Marroquin, 41, conceal packages of beef fajitas inside their purses.

Both were detained by the Loss Prevention Officer after attempting to exit the store without paying for the merchandise valued at $159.70.

Pineda and Marroquin were arrested and charged with theft and handed a $500 bond.
