U.S. Custom officers, conducting outbound operations, at the Hidalgo International bridge seized over $150,000 in U.S. currency  on April 29th.

On Monday, CBP officers working the outbound traffic, into Mexico, inspected a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee with two women and a 1 year-old child.

The two females, Mexican citizens, ages 41 and 21 years-old, were selected for outbound inspection and during the examination officers discovered packages hidden under the women's clothing.

A total of 18 packages were found from each female with a combined total of $78,954 and $74,733 in U.S. currency along with $170 in the second woman's purse.

Offices seized the money, arrested and handed over the women to Homeland Security investigators and the child was turned over to a family member.
