San Benito police arrested a man for possession of marijuana after conducting a traffic stop.

On May 2 at 8 p.m., a patrol officer made a traffic stop on a 2000 Ford truck, driven by Jacob Michael Rodriguez, 23, for a defective tail lamp.

When the officer approached Rodriguez he could smell a strong odor of marijuana from inside the vehicle and asked Rodriguez if there was any illegal contraband in the vehicle.

Rodriguez admitted he had marijuana inside the glove box and was placed under arrest and arraigned on possession of marijuana and a set bond of $1,000.
