Teen puts on new clothes, attempts to walkout without paying

Harlingen police arrest a teen for theft after he attempted to walk out of a store wearing a new outfit.

Police were called to the Kohl's Department store, located at 2715 W. Expressway 83 in reference to a theft on Tuesday, June 11th.

A Loss Prevention officer, from the store, advised officers he had observed two male subjects entering the store, selecting several clothing items, putting on the new clothing and then attempting to walk out of the store without paying for the merchandise.

The two teens Marcelino Tamayo, 18, and a 16 year-old juvenile were detained with the items, two pair of shoes, pair of jeans and a t-shirt valued up to $200.

Tamayo was arrested and charged with theft while the juvenile was released to his parent.
