Suspects, in garage, assault victim with hammer demanding money

Harlingen police are asking for the public's help in identifying two men involved with robbing and assaulting a homeowner with a hammer.

On Monday, August 12th, between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., the victim arrived home, located on the 2300 block South 25th Street, and opened the garage door to park his vehicle inside.

The victim attempted to close the garage door when two men entered the garage and then demanded money from him.

During the confrontation the victim lost his footing, falling to the ground and causing one of the men to strike him on the knees with a hammer and continuing to demand money.

The victim handed the suspects money from his pocket and the men then left on foot north on 25th Street and west on Poinciana.

Both suspects are described as Hispanic, medium built, approximately 5'9" in height, wearing dark long sleeve shirts, jeans, gloves and blue ski masks.
