Brownsville Task Force investigators arrested a man suspected of several burglaries in the El Valle West subdivision.

On Monday, May 13, police received a call, from the victim, about a burglary in process in which the suspect had knocked on the door and when there was no answer forced his way into the home.

The victim, who was in the bathroom, heard the door being forced open and was able to view the suspect, without being seen, walk into the house and then leave in a black Jeep Liberty.

On Wednesday, May 15, detectives spotted the same Jeep Liberty, in the area and followed the driver to the 200 block of Lexington and witnessed the driver park in the driveway of a home, approach the front door and then leave.

Detectives dispatched the vehicle information to patrol officers and then inspected the door at the home which confirmed the door had been forced open.

Officers were able to conduct a traffic spot and identify the driver, Michael Sanchez, 40, and found a TV, DVD player, jewelry and other property in the vehicle.

Sanchez was questioned on several burglaries and he admitted to burglarizing 15 homes in the last two months.
