Suspect in aggravated assault case arrested

Pharr police arrested a man after he attempted to rob a woman at knife point and then cutting her hand when she resisted.

On Sunday, December 8th Pharr police responded to a call in reference to woman being injured after a man attempted to rob her at knife point.

The woman reported being approached by a man wearing a blue checkered jacket in the parking lot of the Dollar General store located at 201 E. Ferguson.

The suspect threatened her at knife point demanding her property and when the victim resisted she was cut on her left hand.

Police say the suspect then left the area but was spotted and detained by police and identified as Juan Carlos Hernandez, 29, and he was arrested on a aggravated assault charge and be arraigned on Monday.
