San Benito police arrested a man and charged him with public intoxication and additionally to resisting arrest.

On Friday, April 13, a patrolling officer noticed a man, Rolando Mario Juarez, 31, arguing with two male employees, at a local bar, at the intersection of Roberson and Travis Street.

Juarez had signs of being intoxicated and the bar employees stated they had escorted Juarez out of the bar and asked him to leave the premises. The officer arrested Juarez for public intoxication and during his detainment asked him if he had anything in his pockets.

Juarez did pull out a plastic baggie with a white powdery substance which tested positive for cocaine. The officer preceded to place Juarez under arrest and placing him into the patrol car which Juarez became uncooperative and flexed his body refusing to be seated.

Juarez was taken to the police station for booking and there he refused to have his photo taken and placed into a cell.

Juarez was charged with possession of a controlled substance drug free zone, resisting arrest or transport and public intoxication with a bond set at $25,000.
