Registered sex offender arrested for exposing himself to minor girl

Members of the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Task Force arrested a registered sex offender for exposing himself to a young girl.

On May 30th Harlingen police were dispatched to 802 N. 13th Street in regards to a man exposing himself to a minor child in 2013.

The report stated that a man had exposed his private parts to a 13 year-old girl at a residence on the 1200 block of W. Fillmore Avenue.

Through their investigation detectives identified the man as Tomas Vela Salinas, 51, who was also a registered sex offender.

An arrest warrant was issued for Salinas and on Tuesday, July 15th members of the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offender Task Force located and arrested Salinas on the 1600 block of N. Commerce Street.

Salinas was charged with indecency with a child exposure and handed a $50,000 bond.
