Police arrest suspect in theft of $5,900 bike from Bicycle World

Brownsville police arrested a man accused of walking into a bicycle shop and stealing a high end sporting bike.

On Friday, February 14th officers were given a lead, from a Crime Stoppers tip, in regards to a person believed to be involved in the theft of a specialized bike from Bicycle World.

Investigators were able to identify the person as Christopher Zigamar Garcia, 39, who resided on the 4400 block of East 14th Street, and upon making contact with Garcia officers were led on a short foot chase, but were able to apprehend Garcia.

Garcia was charged with evading arrest and theft with a bond totaling $12,500. Investigators were not able to locate the stolen bicycle and are asking for the public's help in an effort to find it.
