Owner of stolen vehicle uses GPS to help police arrest suspects

The owner of a stolen truck in Victoria, TX, assisted Brownsville police in capturing the suspects who allegeldy took the vehicle.

On Monday, July 29th, at 7:15 a.m., the owner of a stolen red Ford F-250 truck advised police officers that he was tracking his vehicle by GPS as it was entering the city limits.

As the truck was driving through city streets, the owner was able to give police the location by phone, and officers made a traffic stop detaining a couple.

Police arrested Evelio Martinez, 25, and Kirstie Vasquez, 23, both from Houston, and they were charged with theft of a motor vehicle.

Bond on Evelio Martinez and Kirstie Vasquez was set at $15,000 for the theft and $7,500 for possession of criminal instruments.
