Intoxicated driver charged with DWI for the third time
HARLINGEN, TX (KVEO NEWS CENTER 23) — A Harlingen driver is arrested and charged with DWI after being spotted by a concerned citizen.
On Friday, June 21, in the late evening hours officers were radioed in reference to a possible drunk driver operating his vehicle in a reckless manner.
The caller had reported the vehicle did not have it's headlights on and that the driver's door was open. The driver then pulled into a Whataburger restaurant, on Harrison, and stopped in the middle of the parking lot impeding traffic.
Officers questioned the driver, identified as Leo Leal, 41, and administered a sobriety test which Leal failed and he was charged with driving while intoxicated.
During Leal's booking process a criminal check showed Leal had prior DWI arrest.
