Hired help steals over $3,000 in property from homeowner

A hired house cleaner was arrested for taking up to $3,725 in property items from a home.

On Friday, May 17, a victim of theft walked into the Harlingen Police Department to file a report of some property missing from her home.

The victim reported that she had placed an ad, in a local advertising paper, for a person to help clean her home.

She hired a woman to do the work, but noticed that several items of property were missing from the home and without her consent.

On Wednesday, May 29, police received an anonymous call in regards to the missing property and the identification of the woman accused of the theft.

Police were able locate and identify the woman as Sandra Perez Munoz, 19, and recovered the stolen property found in her residence, Munoz was arrested and charged with felony theft.
