Harlingen man charged with 7 counts of burglary of a motor vehicle

Harlingen police arrested and charged a Primera man with seven counts of burglary of a motor vehicle.

On Saturday, February 1st at around 2:15 a.m. Harlingen police were dispatched to the Lakewood RV Park, located at 4525 Graham Road, in reference to suspicious individuals in the area.

Witnesses reported seeing three men walking around the parking lot checking for unlocked vehicles. When officers arrived the suspects had left the area, but seven vehicles had been entered and had property stolen from inside.

Police were able locate a suspect in the surrounding area who then fled on foot but was detained by a Cameron County Sheriff's deputy and placed under arrest.

The suspect was identified as Joan Mares Moncivais, 27, and he was charged with seven counts burglary motor vehicle, evading arrest and handed a bond totaling $57,500 dollars.
