Harlingen man arrested for trespassing and assault
HARLINGEN, TX (KVEO NEWS CENTER 23) — A Harlingen man was arrested by police after he refused to leave a business after being refused service.
On Monday, September 9th police responded to a call of a disturbance at a Stripes store on the 600 block of West Harrison Avenue.
According to a clerk, a man had become angry after he was refused service and threw money at them placing them in fear of being assaulted.
When police arrived they came into contact with Ted Lloyd Hasten, 66, sitting outside the store and he refused to leave the property after he had been told in the past not to return to the store.
Officers had to physically detain Hasten to transport him to jail where he was charged with criminal trespassing and assault.
