Harlingen man arrested for assaulting disabled person

Harlingen police arrested and charged a man with injury to a disabled person after the victim had no beer.

On Monday, December 23rd at 4:30 p.m. were dispatched to the 1600 block of Sam Houston in reference to an assault.

Officers spoke to the victim and a witness, both informed the officer that the suspect, identified as Donald McDonald, 54, had intentionally struck the victim, who is physically disabled, in the face with a closed fist twice because he didn't have any beer.

McDonald was found nearby in a building and arrested for assault and handed a bond of $30,000.
