An anonymous call, about a possible hostage situation, led police to a residence that was being used as a eight-liner business.

Police were dispatched to a Harlingen home, Thursday evening, surrounding and then raiding the house to find 11 people and the resident of the home, but no hostage was found.

Police discovered and seized 27 eight liners, an ATM, currency counters and other gambling devices that were inside the home and being used by patrons.

Enrique Moya, 38, who resided at the home was arrested for gambling promotion and tampering with physical evidence.

It was discovered that Moya is also a registered sex offender and he had a pending case with the DA for gambling promotion and possession of gambling equipment.
