Fugitive, wanted on assault of a child, arrested at port of entry
BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — Custom and Border Protection officers, at a port of entry in Brownsville, arrested a man wanted for assaulting a child.
On Sunday, August 11th came into contact with man, later identified as a wanted fugitive, at the Brownsville / Matamoros port of entry as he attempted to enter into the U.S.
Officers did a primarily query identifying the man as Esteban Lamas, 24, an American citizen who resided in Brownsville and he was sent to a secondary examination.
It was discovered that Lamas had a active warrant for aggravated sexual assault of a child and he was handed over to the Cameron County Sheriff's Department.
