Custom Field Operations officers arrested an Edinburg man wanted in Colorado for sexual assault of a child.

In the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 3, officers encountered Pablo Esau Peralta  Martinez, 23, attempting to enter the U.S. as a pedestrian at the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge.

A Custom officer, at a primary inspection, discovered a active warrant on Martinez and escorted him to a secondary biometric check and confirmed a warrant was issued on Martinez for the sexual assault of a 7 year-old girl in June 2012.

Officers arrested Martinez and released him into the custody of the Hidalgo Police Department and he will be extradited back to Colorado.
