A Edinburg man has been sentenced to federal prison on charges of enticing a minor in Port Arthur, Texas.

Hector Capetillo Rodriguez, 39, pleaded guilty to the charge, back in October of 2012, and was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison on Thursday, March 28, 2013.

Documents, in the court case, show that on May 30, 2012 Rodriguez had approached a child inside a Walmart asking for the child's help in finding a certain toy. During their conversation Rodriguez asked for the child's cell phone number and later that evening began sending text messages to the victim.

A family member saw the text messages and contacted police, who then assumed the child's identity, and began a text conversation with Rodriguez.

Rodriguez then began sending sexually explicit messages and police, still posing as the child, set a meeting time at Port Neches Park and arrested Rodriguez.
