Duo arrested and charged with aggravated robbery of Stripes store

Three men have been arrested for their involvement in a aggravated robbery of a Stripes store in Pharr.

On Wednesday, June 26, a man, disguised with a black ski mask and displaying a handgun, walked into a Stripes store, located on the 5700 block of South 10th Street, demanding money from a store employee.

The clerk complied and handed the suspect an unknown amount of money and the suspect then jumped into a waiting truck and fled the scene.

During the investigation officers were able to identify the suspects involved in the crime and issued arrest warrants.

On Thursday, June 27, the two suspects, Jose Alfredo Moreno, 19, and Adrian Frias, 23, were arraigned in a Municipal Court and charged with aggravated robbery  and a bond of $250,000 each.

In addition, Jose Adrian Frias, 42, was arrested and charged with interfering with public duties and assault on a peace officer with a $2,000 bond.
