Ricardo Rubio Jr., wanted for robbery, turned himself into Weslaco police on Tuesday evening and his bail was set at $25,000. The second suspect, Jesse Lee Loya, 24, is still wanted by authorities.

On March 1, at approximately 3:30 p.m., police were called about a robbery at the Wal Mart store located at 1310 North Texas Boulevard.

Store security reported two men attempting to shoplift over $800 dollars worth of merchandise after a store employee asked one of the suspects for his receipt.

The suspects pushed the employee down and attempted to run out of the store with the merchandise to a awaiting get away car. The crooks were unable to take the stolen merchandise, but able to get into the vehicle and drive off from the scene with the rear license plate taped over.

Weslaco police now have warrants to arrest the two men identified as Ricardo Rubio Jr., 25, and Jesse Lee Loya, 24, both from Brownsville, Texas.
