A family in Loma Blanca Chihuahua, Mexico never imagined that their baseball team would win a championship and be killed on the same day.

Last Sunday 10 people, 4 minors including a 6-year-old girl were murdered when they were celebrating their team's victory in the home's backyard.

Police reports and witnesses say two gunmen arrived and shot everyone at the party, only 3 survived. Chihuahua's attorney general said they believe the shooting could be a vengeance action of an organized criminal group.

“Ten people died including 4 minors too. The family is very sad because of this harsh event they're obviously victims. Unfortunately this happened when we were having peace in the region,” north's division Chihuahua Attorney General Jorge Gonzalez Nicolas said.

One of the victim's family members preferred not to go on camera, and said what happened was horrible and unfair.

“Since that day we feel very sad, because we knew all of them and 5 were from the same family, I don't know what to do or how to help” the victim's family member said.

Several Ciudad Juarez residents were shocked to hear the news, specially because violence levels had decreased over the past months. Some residents have different views.

“I'm not surprised the authorities don't even have control, we are in the hands of God, the mayor can't even do something,”Juarez resident Joseph Levy Mendez said.

“we are shocked to see so many things we don't even know what is happening or why,” Juarez resident Rosa Isela Leal said.

Governor of Chihuahua Cesar Duarte said the state will not let these types of tragedies step in their way, he guaranteed justice for the victim's families.

“unfortunately these types of events generate tension, but there's nothing indicating that we will see the violence coming back like 3 years ago, the advances in the investigation are consistent the most dangerous criminals are in jail and whoever did this will be in jail soon too.” Duarte said.

Authorities of both sides of the border are cooperating in this investigation. No arrests have been made in connection with this tragic crime.
