Court Knocks Down Video Game Law

Supreme Court overturns California law restricting sale of violent games to minors.

The Supreme Court has ruled against California's law restricting the sale or rental of violent video games to minors.

Violators would have been fined up to $1,000 for each infraction.

The 9th u.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled the law violated minors' rights, and by a seven-to-two vote the Supreme Court found the law unconstitutional.

The video game industry made $18 billion last year.

46 million american homes have at least one video game system.
