The Cameron County District Attorney's Office announced on Friday that the Court of Appeals issued their opinion regarding the writ of mandamus that Yolanda De Leon filed in reference to the criminal charges pending against her.
De Leon argued that former Judge Abel Limas failed to disqualify Cameron County District Attorney Armando Villalobo's and his office from prosecuting the felony indictments of tampering with government records and two counts of aggravated perjury against her. The court of appeals denied De Leon's request for mandamus relief saying she did not show that she was entitled to the relief sought.
The Cameron County District Attorney's office will be seeking a trial date in the immediate future.
