Couple arrested in theft of Armani cologne

A Harlingen couple is arrested after attempting to take a cologne gift set from a department store.

On Sunday, August 3rd Harlingen police were dispatched to the Bealls Department Store located at 2313 W. Lincoln Avenue in reference to a theft.

The store manager reported a man had entered the store, selected an Armani cologne gift set, valued at $82, and exited the store without paying for the item.

The man was seen fleeing in a blue Mitsubishi Lancer driven by a woman. The vehicle was stopped near the intersection of South 1st Street and E. Harrison Avenue and both individuals were identified as David Vasquez, 37, and Natalie Vasquez 28, both of Harlingen.

Both individuals were arrested and charged with theft and handed a bond of $3,000 each.
