Three people are behind bars after Hidalgo County officials seize more than one thousand pounds of marijuana in a home near Mission. Investigators say an anonymous tip to their Narcotics Unit led to the three arrests and drug seizure but officials are still looking for one more person.
The home on 6425 Doffing Lane near Mission was a place where the group stashed thousands of pounds of drugs but due to a concerned citizen who called the county's narcotic unit Monday night, officials were able to confiscate 1,128 pounds of marijuana and arrest three people.
Officials were allowed to search the home after receiving consent from the homeowner 33-year-old Ligda Gomez. Inside, deputies found 141 bundles of marijuana. They arrested Gomez, 26-year-old Jose Martinez and 19-year-old Daniel Ruvalcava for the possession of marijuana. Martinez got an extra charge for evading arrest.
Authorities are still searching for the third man. Anyone with information can call: 668-8477.
