County Officials Asking for Public Input on New Courthouse
HIDALGO COUNTY — The county would like some input from the public about the plans for the new county court house.
The current courthouse has been in use since 1954 and it's no longer big enough to accommodate the number of people in the county. For more than a year county officials have been planning on building a new courthouse and now they would like the public to have some word on the plans. County Judge Ramon Garcia said, "We are presently involved with these consultants and what we decided to do was let them go and talk to the community because this is their courthouse and as a result four different meetings have been set up, one in each precinct in the county."
