CAMERON COUNTY — The next time property taxes are due for the county, local veterans could get a break. Cameron County Judge Carlos Cascos has made a recommendation to our state legislature to look into an exemption for those who have served this country and to include surviving spouses for the tax break. Both the House and Senate must pass the proposal before Cameron county can offer the tax break locally.
