A Cameron County jury has decided that a county employee used his office to help a relative get a county job.

Raul Salazar now faces a year in jail and a possible 4 Thousand dollar fine for various arrangements to help his brother in law pass a civil service exam, including providing the answers to test questions so he could be hired as a security guard for the county.

The visiting judge who handled the trial will decide on the punishment next month.
