Residents living along Louisiana's Houston River might consider flooding a major inconvenience, but one woman is making the best of it. Lee Peck reports.

(KPLC) With a swollen Houston River, boats have become a necessity for Tina LeDoux and her neighbors. The water started rising on Friday. She and others off Cypress Lake Road have been paddling back and forth ever since.

"I've always wanted to live on the river. So, I love it. I mean, who wouldn't like to have a backyard that they can ride around in or hang out by the river... sit on your swing and barbecue," said LeDoux.

One stroke at a time, LeDoux navigates down her road - covered with overflow from the nearby river.

"It just looks hard, but it's really not," said LeDoux.

She's careful to avoid the strong current and stay along the tree line, watching out for obstacles.
