SHARYLAND - Controversy has been swirling around the recent resignation of Sharyland I.S.D. Superintendent Scott Owings.
The district released Mr. Owings resignation letter this past Tuesday amid allegations of sexual harassment claims by fellow employees, but the district is still fulfilling his contract at a salary of $165,00 dollars a year. School district legal attorney Ivan Perez said, "If an employee resigns effective immediately and has available leave to them, the district in many circumstances in many situations, would continue to have the obligation to compensate for that leave."
The Sharyland school district will hold an open meeting on Friday at 5:30 PM inside the administration building and the public is invited to attend.
