Congressman Vela Briefed on Border Security

Newly appointed member of the House Homeland Security Committee, District 34 Congressman Filemon Vela, was in Brownsville and was briefed by the local department of Homeland Security officials about security measures along the border. Congressman Vela got a tour of the Brownsville sector by Border Patrol and Custom officers and Congressman Vela says security is critical along the border, "Immigration, border security and border trade all go hand and hand and what we got to do is make sure our border is prosperous that we make Mexico safer so that  the people who have moved over here can go back home and so that we can go back to our normal border life like we once used too."
