Confessed Killer Awaiting Extradition

BROWNSVILLE — Over three decades later, details are emerging regarding the murders of two Oregon women by a Brownsville resident.
Sixty-three year-old Jeffrey Paul Cutlip has been charged with two counts of murder. As of now law enforcement from here and Oregon are working out details surrounding his extradition back to the state of Oregon.
Cutlip, who has been living in Brownsville, made a surprising confession to Brownsville Police over the weekend regarding the nearly 35 year old cold case murders of two Oregon women.
He told police that in August of 1975 he strangled a 44 year old woman in her apartment.
The second murder he said happened about two years later, in April of 1977. That case involved a 15 year old teen who was found dead in a creek.
As of now Oregon homicide detectives are continuing to investigate both cases, but are not releasing details of the murders or motives surrounding the cases.
