Commissioners Split Vote on Asking D.A. to Voluntarily Resign

CAMERON COUNTY — It was a deadlock vote for Cameron county commissioners asking District Attorney Armando Villalobos to voluntarily resign. The commissioners voted 2-2 with county commissioner Dan Sanchez was absent for the vote. District Attorney Villalobos was indicted for corruption and involvement in the former 404th District Judge Abel Limas case. A motion to request a transcript in the trial of attorney Ray Marchan, who was accused in the Abel Limas scandal, but did not pass.
