A small town in Cameron County continues to pick up the pieces 9 months after Hurricane Dolly ravaged the area.

The town of Combes is just beginning to repair damage left by the category one hurricane after receiving $2.7 million from the federal government.

ā€œIā€™m glad that they're fixing it.ā€

Combes Mayor, Silver Garcia, says Rusty Lane was fairly new before Dolly destroyed it. It was only 4 to 5 years old. Now it'll cost about $180,000 to repave it.

Other projects funded by FEMA include drainage improvements to prevent flooding and the demolition of the old water tower.

Garcia says it's going to take another 8 to 10 months before the town of Combes goes back to normal.
