A Combes brush fire is causing traffic along U.S. Highway 77 as fire officials work to put out the blaze. The fire began around 2 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. Cameron County Emergency Management officials Humberto Barrera believes a man burning trash without a permit is responsible for the blaze. Authorities say the fire is under control and is approximately five acres in size.
