The Texas General Land Office and the U.S. Coast Guard are now monitoring the shrimp boats that ran ashore on South Padre Island for pollution.

During Topical Storm Hermine, the shrimp boats were unable to make it to the Port of Brownsville, and were grounded onto the sandbars from strong currents. Now the Texas Land Office is making sure their are no hazardous materials, like diesel fuel, being released from the boats.
