Clerks Charged with Sellling Alcohol to Minors

HARLINGEN - The Harlingen Police Department is cracking down on the selling of alcohol to minors with a sting operation funded by the State of Texas.

The sting operation began in September and targets minors from purchasing alcoholic beverages at stores. Harlingen Police Department Sergeant John Parish stated the operation has been successful with the arrest of several store clerks being arrested and charged with selling alcohol to minors. Sonia Marie DeLeon, Ismael Basaldua and Gloria Borjas were arrested and charged with a Class A misdemeanor and bond was set at $1,000 dollars each.
