The City of South Padre Island is taking more aggressive measures to get those with outstanding fines to pay up.

If you don't settle your fines with the court officials say you run the risk of being denied your vehicle registration or even driver's license renewal. It's part of the island's new Scofflaw-Omnibase Program. After 60 days of non-payment to the court a person will be denied these services from the Department of Public Safety.
